Warm and Romantic French Style

The Maxim's is a world famous restaurant with branches all over the world. The Maxim's is one of them. In 1893, a young man named Maxim started a little restaurant on the Royal Avenue near the Concord Square of Paris. Through the one hundred years later, it has already become the gathering place of the celebrities and symbol of noble and elegance. The Beijing Maxim's Restaurant is located on the second floor of Chong Wen Men Hotel, No.2, West Chong Wen Men Street. The restaurant saw its debut in Sept, 1983. The internal decoration of the restaurant is a vivid copy of the Maxim's Restaurant de Paris. All the peach wood sculptures and gilded ivy patterns on the walls, maple leave shaped pendant lamps and wall lamps, windows the with crystal glasses, copies of frescos of the Louvre and the Forbidden City, and the colorful stained glass windows make you feel as if in the French court of the 19th century.

There are a lobby, a café, and some small salons in the restaurant. It can hold 300 people banquet, or 500 cocktail lounge or buffet. The dishes are mainly French food, such as French onion soup, goose liver sauce, pepper steak, and etc. The prices range from 160 to 550. There is no extra charge for separate rooms and audio system. The restaurant integrates the multiple purposes of dinning, business, and recreation. And the Maxim's Bakery is famous for its flavors, quality, and meeting the need of different levels.

The cook staff includes a French Chef Alan, two masters of western style food from Beijing, and one master of western style flour refreshment from Beijing, as well as a group of cooks and waiters who were trained in Paris.

The Lou Zhong Yuan Restaurant (Garden in Building) is located on the fifth floor of Chong Wen Men hotel, with a service area of 1000 square meters. The feature here is the Guangdong style, with a complement of Sichuan and Shandong style dishes. Guangdong Morning Tea is also provided here. It can host major banquets, gathering of all kinds, or simply a casual dinner. The multi-purpose banquet hall can hold 120 people simultaneously, while the Fu Rong Hall (Hall of Lotus) can hold 80.

There are eight separate rooms, each with their own style, namely the Fu Shou Hall (Hall of Happiness and Long Life), which features classical decoration and can hold a 20 people banquet; the Qian Xi Hall (Hall of Millenary) and the Fu Gui Hall (Hall of Fortune and Dignity), can hold 8 - 10 people respectively, whereas the Europe style Yao Yue, Chang Le, Song He, and Yuan Zhong Le are serene, comfortable and modern.

The cook staff is composed of two masters in cuisine, eight technicians, and many cooks. The Jin Sha Shrimp, Piao Xue Yin Si Balls, and Fu Gui Shi Liu Chicken are some of the dishes that have won the gold medal in Beijing Cuisine Competition.
